Calcium lignosulphonate, also known as calcium lignosulphonate and calcium lignosulphonate, is a multi-component macromolecular polymer anionic surfactant prepared from sulfite pulp waste liquor through lime water sedimentation, acid dissolution, filtration and impurity removal, filtrate concentration and spray drying processes. Its chemical formula is C20H24CaO10S2, with a molecular weight range of 800-10000. It appears as a light yellow to dark brown powder with a slight aromatic odor and may contain up to 30% reducing sugars. It is soluble in water but insoluble in ordinary organic solvents, with a pH value of 4-6 (1% aqueous solution) . This substance is mainly used as a concrete water reducer. Adding 0.25% -0.3% of cement can reduce water consumption by 10% -14%, improve workability, and suppress slump loss. As a binder in mineral powder smelting, it can improve recovery rate, and as a dispersant in refractory materials, it can enhance performance and prevent cracking . Adding carbon to the ceramic industry can reduce carbon content, improve green strength, and increase the yield to 70% -90% . In addition, it is also used as a feed adhesive, and the increase in particle strength can reduce the amount of micro powder. When stored, it should be placed in a cool and dry place. During transportation, it should be treated as non hazardous materials

Application

1. Used as a mineral binder: In the smelting industry, calcium lignosulfonate is mixed with mineral powder to make mineral powder balls. After drying, they are put into the kiln, which can greatly improve the smelting recovery rate.
2. Refractory materials: When manufacturing refractory bricks and tiles, using calcium lignosulfonate as a dispersant and binder can significantly improve operational performance and have good effects such as reducing water, strengthening, and preventing cracking.
3. Ceramics: Lignosulfonate calcium is used in ceramic products to reduce carbon content, increase green strength, decrease the amount of plastic clay, improve mud flowability, increase yield by 70-90%, and reduce sintering speed from 70 minutes to 40 minutes.
