Melamine water reducer (also known as melamine based water reducer) is a highly efficient water reducer mainly composed of sulfonated melamine formaldehyde resin. It has the characteristics of high water reduction rate, early strength, and non air entraining, and is widely used in the fields of cement concrete and dry powder mortar.
Main components and characteristics
The main component is sulfonated melamine formaldehyde resin, which is in the form of white powder, with a solid content of ≥ 95%, a moisture content of ≤ 3%, a pH value of 7-9, and a recommended dosage of 0.5% to 1.0% of the cement dosage.

Technical principles and comparative advantages
Chemical mechanism: Sulfonated melamine condenses with formaldehyde to form a linear polymer, which provides electrostatic repulsion through the sulfonic acid group (- SO), causing the molecular chain to stretch and generate steric hindrance.
Compared with naphthalene based water reducers, it has better high temperature resistance (suitable for steam curing process), but the slump loss is faster and the production cost is higher.
